Fewer than 5% of SMEs run their company as a business. For most small businesses, their company is simply a name from which to invoice, and a website to provide services to clients.
As a result, the business often lurches from feast to famine, where months of overwhelm are followed by months of insecurity. Generating new business is a constant hassle and in time this drains the energy of the professional.
- Have you revisited your fees since the recession and are you charging new clients more?
- Is your business-plan and behaviour challenged monthly, or at least quarterly, to ensure you are making the changes you need to?
- Do you really enjoy your job and take the holidays you need to recharge the batteries?
If you can’t say yes to the above three questions, why did you set up your own business? Surely it is a time to review and change. As you are probably working on your own, to make these changes, ideally you need someone to bounce your ideas or issues off in total confidence with a professional who is totally detached. That’s where I come in!

Being British, “we don’t like shouting from the rooftops” so I will say very quietly that after being in business for over 40 years as an insurance/sales/marketing/ professional including roles as a Non Executive Director as well as Development Director and Managing Director, I have had many successes and evidenced a number of mistakes. Over the last 10 years I have spent hundreds of hours training to be a coach and supervisor of coaches (accredited by AC and CSA) and now instead of me doing, I want to help people like you achieve whatever you term successful.
How can I help you?
At a regular review we can overview all aspects of your business and I am happy to act as if I were your Non Executive Director. This would include assessing your target market, marketing and sales, client management, website, resources, pricing and fee collection and of course finances (I will never take the place of your accountant!), depending on what is needed at the time of our meeting. I do challenge to ensure you stay on track and can coach and mentor you.
Fees Depending on the position and state of your business, I will be affordable and you will definitely see a return for this more professional approach
Open: You will need to be open regarding financial information and honest with yourself. Your personal life will automatically be part of the conversation as you need to be happy at work and at home.
Scheduling: At the end of each session, we will schedule our next session. These sessions can be by phone, Skype or face-to-face, whichever suits you the best, its your decision. I am happy to give you feedback between sessions via email.
